This is worth reading by anyone planning to perform, or already engaged in, furniture repair. Excellent writing and a wealth of information packed into this book, with the only unfortunate aspect for Americans being that it is written with considerable references to UK products and tools that in some cases do not appear to be available in the US. A particularly unusual aspect of this book is good chapters on restoration or recreation of metal hardware, treatment of woodworm damage, leather work and glazing. Long term members of the Porch will appreciate the chapter on how to prepare a piece for finishing with shellac. For me, this is a go-to reference book for furniture repair and restoration.
